Shandy’s happenings…what we’ve been up to…

We were at the Taste of Selwyn Cooking Demonstration at the West Melton community centre on Friday 26th May. It was a lot of fun with with Lauren from Langdale Vineyard Restaurant cooking Posh Mushrooms on Toast using our Shandy’s oyster mushrooms.

Also on the menu was pumpkin, coconut cumin soup and walnut crumble and very easy apple cake with a honey caramel sauce.

All dishes used local ingredients and were paired with a wine supplied by Laura from Wine Devine, which Andy happily sampled.

We dropped a large supply of product to Arvida Park Lane for the up and coming pantry shop they are establishing at their Wellness Centre in Whiteleigh Ave, Christchurch.

ON THE HOME FRONT - Andy has been flat out making sauces for Arvida Living Well Communities and the Selwyn Taste Cooking demo night and the Timaru Kings Birthday Market, this weekend.

Sharon is still learning how to farm the mushrooms and noticed the mushrooms weren't performing as well so made a few adjustments and they are back on track for now. When growing any crop you have to always be observing how things are going, mushrooms tell you very quickly if they are not happy.
