Naans (great with your favourite homemade curry or a lunch on its own)

Ingredients

2 c of flour

1/2 tsp salt

3 Tablespoons olive oil

3/4 c of water

filling....our favourite, grated cheese/minced garlic but also add diced salami

Method

Combine flour, salt, olive oil, water.

Knead until a good smooth consistency (not too much).

Rest for 10 mins.

This is a little tricky, take about a 1/4 of the dough and push it out on a lightly floured surface to about the size of your hand then put about 1/2 c cheese with 1 tsp of the garlic on top of dough, then wrap the filling with the dough until it is fully sealed, then roll out with a rolling pin to about 3-4 mm thick.

Cook in a reasonably hot pan with 2 Tablespoons of olive oil until brown on each side, top up oil in between each naan for nice crispy naans. I do sprinkle salt on them before eating, but this is optional.

We haven't got past the cheese garlic and salami naans but I'm sure you can experiment with other fillings as long as they are diced small so the filling doesn't burst out of the naan when rolling it out.

This makes about 4 good size naans, we adjust recipe up or down to suit how many we are feeding.
